Her diverse experience and high energy have made Amy Friend, PA-C, a valued and dependable member of the Urology Associates Southeastern of North Carolina team located in Wilmington, North Carolina. With over 14 years of experience as a registered nurse and a certified physician’s assistant, Amy has played many different roles throughout her career.

In May of 2005, Amy Friend graduated from Deaconess College of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri, Summa Cum Laude. After graduation, Amy quickly gained valuable and varied experience, first working in the trauma/surgery step-down unit at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, then serving as a clinical supervisor for Serving In Mission in South Sudan, and finally returning to St. Louis University Hospital as a trauma/surgery intensive care nurse. Amy returned to school to earn her Masters of Physician Assistant in 2014 at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. During her PA-C education, she received the Paragon Award for Clinical Excellence.

After graduation, Amy completed her OB/GYN residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, before moving on to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital in New York as an OB/GYN PA-C. Amy Friend is a proud member of the Association of Physicians Assistants in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Having served in many different roles throughout her career, Amy Friend brings her diverse experience, passion for service, and compassionate manner to deliver her patients the best care possible.
